PDRN

Polydeoxyribonucleotide — a mixture of DNA fragments, not one small molecule. That means there is no single universal molecular formula to print beside the name.

What the package may say

Marketing name and ingredient-list name can differ.

PDRNCommon consumer and marketing term: polydeoxyribonucleotide.
Sodium DNAAn ingredient-list name used by brands including Anua for salmon DNA-derived PDRN.
Hydrolyzed DNAAnother label used for smaller or hydrolyzed DNA material in some cosmetic products.
Salmon DNAA source description, not a standardized INCI name by itself.

Always check the complete INCI list. “PDRN” on the front label does not prove that two products use the same source, fragment size, purity or concentration.

PDRN vs c-PDRN®

The “c” is not a universal chemical grade.

TermWhat it meansWho controls it
PDRNGeneral term for polydeoxyribonucleotide DNA fragments. Products may use different sources and specifications. No single cosmetic company owns the general scientific term.
c-PDRN®A proprietary PDRN identity used for REJURAN Cosmetics and described as salmon DNA-derived material optimized with DOT® technology.PharmaResearch, South Korea. The company identifies REJURAN Cosmetics as its brand and c-PDRN®/DOT® as proprietary technology.

Important: c-PDRN® is a particular proprietary material; it should not be used as a synonym for every cosmetic PDRN. PharmaResearch did not create the general DNA polymer PDRN concept, but it developed and commercialized its own optimized c-PDRN® platform.

Evidence boundary

Injection research cannot automatically prove a serum claim.

PDRN has a longer research history in regenerative medicine. For topical cosmetics, penetration, stability, fragment size, concentration and the complete formula remain major questions. Cosmetic benefits should therefore be described cautiously as hydration, skin comfort or appearance support unless product-specific human evidence is available.

Established identityPDRN is a mixture of deoxyribonucleotide polymers.
Documented technologyPharmaResearch publicly documents its DOT® and c-PDRN® platform.
Formula-specificTopical performance cannot be transferred automatically between brands.
